Becoming a mum is an important step. There are several “big questions” that may be running through your mind. Just remember, having a baby is the most wonderful thing in the world!

Am I ready

Have you always wanted to have a child? You've found the perfect father? Then you are ready to launch into the adventure of motherhood. Will my baby be normal?

All women ask themselves this. The medical supervision of pregnancy in itself can be a source of anxiety. It is important to talk about this with your partner and the doctor looking after you during your pregnancy. He will be able to inform, reassure and advise you.

Why am I worried about giving birth?

The closer the due date, the greater the worry. The fear of not being up to the task and, sometimes, apprehension about meeting this unknown child are perfectly legitimate.
Remind yourself that if women have been giving birth since the dawn of time, there is no reason that you won’t manage. Giving birth is the most natural thing in the world.

Does parenting come naturally?

It’s not always easy being a parent, and looking after a child can sometimes turn out to be an obstacle course. There is no magic formula for successfully raising a child, and perfect parents don’t exist either. So don’t stress unduly.
Raising a child is above all about helping it to grow up, and all that it needs for this is your support and a listening ear.

Will I love my baby?

Maternal instinct doesn't always come naturally. Many mothers admit to not having felt this unconditional love towards their newborn child in the days following its birth. Yet, a mother’s love is powerful and very quickly takes root indelibly, never to leave.
